Movements for Movements
A HATCH-catalyzed nonprofit using dance and movement therapy to heal trauma
A single yes said inside a HATCH gathering became a global organization bringing movement therapy to refugee communities.
Trauma caused by poverty, violence, and displacement is one of the most widespread and least resourced crises in the world. Conventional therapeutic models are often inaccessible to the communities that need them most.
Quentin Robinson arrived at HATCH Big Sky 2016 as a performer. He left with a community, a vision, and a commitment. Within a month, he had raised funding — supported significantly by his new HATCH network — and traveled to the Makavili Refugee Settlement in Uganda. In 2019, Quentin formalized what HATCH had helped catalyze, founding the nonprofit Movements 4 Movements (M4M).
Outcomes
M4M has brought dance and movement therapy to refugee and impoverished communities internationally, addressing trauma in contexts where few other interventions reach.
