Turning every school cafeteria into a climate action lab — composting curriculum, impact data, and youth advocacy.
Food waste is one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions — and one of the most addressable. Yet most children grow up with no meaningful education about the connection between what they throw away and the planet they will inherit.
CompoSTARS built a three-pronged program linking composting curriculum, impact tracking, and youth advocacy — piloted first in schools using the Fera Zero platform.
Outcomes
The team designed a full school-based program with curriculum, data infrastructure, and advocacy pipeline — presenting to judges including the Executive Director of Stone Barns Center and Open IDEO's Portfolio Lead.
